Privacy
Estate Ledger handles the most sensitive records a family can have. The privacy model is simple: your records never leave your browser.
What we store
Everything you enter — estates, assets, ledger movements, sales — is stored in your browser's localStorage, on your device. There is no account, no server, no database, no sync. Clearing your browser data erases it (so use the one-click JSON backup — the Ledger reminds you weekly).
What we never receive
- Your records — there is literally no server they could be sent to
- Your identity — there is no registration
What the site collects
Aggregate, cookieless page analytics and — once traffic supports it — advertising on guide pages. Ads never appear inside the ledger tool itself.
Backups are your responsibility
Because data stays local, a cleared browser profile means lost records. The Estate Ledger prompts weekly and makes export a single click. Keep at least one copy outside the browser.
Estate Ledger is an educational organizing tool — not legal advice. Court filing formats vary; confirm your court's requirements. Content checked 2026-10-17.
